• All of our products are AAFCO certified.

as well as a USDA and APHIS

company, all of our products were sampled
and analyzed by the Pennsylvania
Department of Agriculture.

sending samples out to an independent

Annamaet Petfoods
• We use human-grade chicken and whole
grains as well as other natural ingredients.
• The Catfish and Venison we use are
human-grade, and farm raised, to help
preserve our natural resources.
• We use optimum levels of Vitamins and
Minerals instead of minimum levels as
required by the NRC.
• Fortified with specially coated Vitamin C
and extra Methionine.
• Contains Proteinated (Chelated) Minerals
and Flax.
• No soy products, glutens, chemical
preservatives, animal by-products, dyes,
or artificial flavors.
• Our Processing includes a preconditioning
step which increases digestibility.
Why Whole Grains?
• Many nutrients are stripped during the
processing of whole grains into
refined grains.
• When a grain is refined, most of the bran
and some of the germ is removed, resulting
in losses of fiber, B vitamins, vitamin E,
trace minerals, unsaturated fat, and about
75 percent of the phytochemicals.
• A diet containing high levels of refined
grains can compromise the immune system
and increase the chance of immune
mediated diseases in dog such as allergies.
• Compared to refined grains, most whole
grains provide more protein, fiber and other
nutrients, including calcium, magnesium,
potassium, and many phytochemicals.
Why Catfish?
• Many farm raised fish like salmon are raised
in pens in the ocean, often exposed to ocean
pollutants and heavy metals like mercury.
• Farm raised catfish are raised in freshwater
ponds with closed systems and filters,
having little impact on the environment.
These ponds are clay-based and filled with
fresh water pumped from underground
wells and filtered by alluvial aquifers.
• The National Audubon Society and the
Environmental Fund both recommend U.S.
Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe
environmental choice.
• The catfish we use is human grade and is
tested for pesticide, herbicide, and heavy
metal residue.
• Catfish is lower in fat and Histamine than
many other fish.
• The over-fishing taking place in our oceans,
as well as its secondary effects such as
diminishing the seal population are
important to us.
• Our concerns for the depletion of our ocean's
natural resources as well as the
contaminants these diminishing reserves
of ocean fish are exposed to has made
this an easy decision for us.
Menadione Concern?
Due to concern expressed by many of our loyal customers concerning the safety of Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfate (MDB), source of vitamin K activity, Annamaet Petfoods removed it from all of our formulas beginning July 2009. Any product with a best used by date of July, 2010 or more recent will be MDB free.
You will not notice the removal of MDB from our ingredient panel right away, because if we upgrade our products, by law we can use up existing packaging. We print bags in 60,000 production runs, because we are concerned about the environment we will use up all existing packaging and labels before you see the change on the bags.
